Labflex is involved in the project the Technical University of Denmark’s Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (DTU Bioengineering), where we are delivering innovative laboratory solutions in buildings 223 and 224.
The project spans approximately 1.500 square meters and is set to be completed throughout 2024. Our involvement includes the meticulous design, production, and installation of laboratory solutions tailored to the specific needs of DTU Bioengineering. By integrating a mix of our System 10 and System 14 solutions, we are setting high standards for functionality and efficiency in the laboratory environment. This mix of systems secure ergonomic solutions with a great deal of flexibility and adaptability for future changes in workflows.
Laboratory Diversity and Specialization
The new facilities will house 37 laboratories, each designed to support various research focuses within the biotechnology and biomedicine fields. The types of laboratories include:
- GMO Labs: Providing secure environments for GMO research.
- Nano Labs: Dedicated spaces for nanotechnology research.
- Mammalian Cell Labs: Designed for the cultivation and study of mammalian cells.
- Biochemistry Labs: Equipped for chemical processes and biological substances.
- Bacterial, Fungal, and Mould Labs: Specialized environments for microbiological studies.
- Preparation, Storage, and Weighing Labs: Essential spaces for sample preparation and precise measurements.
- Chemistry, Analysis, and Microscopy Labs: Focused on chemical analysis and microscopic examinations.
- Fermentation Labs: Optimized for bioreactor operations and fermentation processes.
Enhancing DTU Bioengineering’s Research Capabilities
DTU Bioengineering is renowned for its comprehensive research and teaching activities aimed at developing sustainable, environmentally friendly solutions in biotechnology and biomedicine. The department leverages an integrated approach, combining expertise in molecular biotechnology, biochemistry, microbiology, chemistry, physics, and chemical techniques.
The new laboratories designed and installed by Labflex will enhance the department’s capabilities in its three main research areas: Microbiology, Biomedicine, and Biotechnology. Each lab is tailored to facilitate research across these disciplines, often intertwining multiple areas to foster innovative cross-disciplinary studies. The laboratories are designed to work with different workflows depending on the specific task.
